More House
The museum is restoring the Federal-style house, built in 1818 outside the village of Roxbury, Delaware County, NY. More had a 400 acre farm, invested in real estate and industry, helped found a bank and a church, and served in various public offices. He is typical of the growing class of entrepreneurial people in New York State in the 1840's. The maze garden is based on a design made in 1816 for a house in Auburn, NY.

Herkimer Kitchen and Woodshed
Originally part of a farmhouse owned by a Herkimer family, this structure, built circa 1820 in Schuyler Lake, NY, now serves as a summer kitchen and woodshed for the More House.
